I wanted to replace the screen of iphone 11 pro. So i removed the screen and accidentally dameged the flex cable of the earpice assembly (shown in the image) so I bought a new earpice assembly. However after replacing the screen with a original refurbished display and the earpiece assembly face id does not work.
The reason that causes Face ID to stop working after replacing the screen is Apple has added a small microcontroller that can pair the device with its display. Therefore, only Apple has the special tools to pair the microcontroller with the new screen during the replacement, and third-party service providers don't really have access to those tools. 1 Answer. With the Face ID on iPhones, the front speaker flex cable is linked to the logic board so as long as you transfer this part over you shouldn’t have an issue. By taking the flex off I would recommend a fair amount of heat and it can also help to use Isopropyl alcohol to soften the adhesive and take it slowly if it is your first time.
